Meet Sergio
Behind every quote and every repair is one person: Sergio. He started Sergio's Boat Spa in 2017 because he was tired of watching boat owners get the same raw deal, work that looked fine in the lot but failed on the water, and shops that went quiet the moment they had your boat. He built this place to be the opposite. Sergio is hands-on with the boats himself, which is why the person who quotes your job is the same person standing behind the result. When you text the shop, you are not reaching a call center or a front desk, you are reaching the guy whose name is on the door. That is rare in marine repair, and it is the reason owners across the Delta keep sending their friends our way.
From your first text to a boat that looks new
We keep the process simple on purpose, because the hardest part for most owners is just knowing where to start.
1. Text a photo of the damage. A quick snapshot from your phone is all we need to size up the job.
2. Get a firm quote and date. We come back with a real price and a real timeline, not a vague range, so you can plan around your season.
3. Drop it off or we’ll pick it up. Bring the boat to our Stockton shop, or we come to your slip for pick up, whichever is easier for you.
4. Stay in the loop. We send updates as the work moves, so your boat never disappears into a black hole the way it might somewhere else.
5. See the reveal. At pickup you get before and after photos and a finish that looks like the damage was never there.
Everything Your Boat Needs, From One Trusted Shop
-
Fiberglass Repair Cracks, gouges, chips, and stress fractures repaired professionally structural and cosmetic.
-
Boat Detailing, Hand wash, polish, wax, and interior detail that brings your boat back to showroom ready.
-
Color Match Painting Custom tinted gelcoat and marine paint matched to your hull's original color. Repairs disappear. No more obvious patch jobs
Most detailers only detail. Most repair shops only repair. We do both, so when a wash uncovers a gouge or a chalked hull needs a color-matched patch, your investment is handled in one place, by one person, without getting bounced between specialists
Why Delta Boat Owners Choose Sergio's
We color-match. Most boat repair shops fix the damage but leave a visible patch that shows on your hull and at resale. We tint gelcoat or paint to your exact color so the fix actually disappears, you'll never find it, and neither will a buyer
Detailing and repair under one roof. Spot a crack while we're washing? We fix it on the same visit, no second appointment, no second shop, no second guess about who's touching your boat.
Real boats, real results every photo below is a job we did in our boat repair shop.
Fiberglass repair
Removed all damaged and compromised fiberglass material from the keel area by grinding approximately 1/2 inch deep to ensure complete elimination of cracks, delamination, and weakened substrate. Surface was properly prepared and rebuilt using new fiberglass reinforcement and resin application to restore structural integrity and original contour. After fiberglass repair and curing, the repaired area was faired smooth, sanded, and prepared for finishing. Applied primer coat, followed by final coat paint for full cosmetic and protective restoration. Completed final polishing and finishing work, leaving the hull fully restored, sealed, and ready for service.
Full boat detail
Performed a complete full-detail service, including thorough exterior wash and decontamination, oxidation removal, multi-stage polishing, and protective wax/sealant application to restore shine and protect surfaces. Cleaned and detailed all interior compartments, seating, vinyl, carpets, storage areas, and dashboard components, ensuring a spotless and refreshed appearance throughout. Treated metal, glass, and trim surfaces, removed water spots and buildup, and finished with final touch-ups to deliver a showroom-quality result.
Gelcoat repair & restoration
Completed a professional gelcoat painting and restoration job on a boat, including surface preparation, sanding, repairs, masking, and application of new marine grade gelcoat for a smooth, durable finish. Color matched and refinished damaged or faded areas, then wet sanded, buffed, and polished the surface to achieve a high gloss showroom appearance. Ensured long lasting protection and improved overall aesthetics while restoring the boat’s original look and finish.
The boats we work on
We are set up for just about anything that runs the Delta. Wake and ski boats with delicate metalflake finishes that are easy to mismatch, and easy for us to get right. Bass and fishing boats that need structural transom or stringer work as much as a shine. Pontoons, where most of the job is detailing plus a fiberglass console. Jet skis and other personal watercraft. And big cabin cruisers that need glass, finish, and a full interior detail all at once. Whatever you run, the standard is the same: a repair you cannot find, an honest price, and a shop that actually picks up the phone.
Don't let a small crack turn into a big bill
On the Delta, time and sun are not on your boat's side. A hairline crack in the gelcoat lets water seep into the fiberglass underneath, and what starts as a cheap cosmetic fix can quietly become a structural rebuild. The Central Valley sun does its own damage, chalking and fading a hull faster here than in cooler climates. The owners who spend the least are the ones who send us a photo the moment they notice something, because caught early, almost everything is small. If you are seeing a crack, a chalky patch, a soft spot underfoot, or staining at the waterline, it costs nothing to text us and find out exactly what you are looking at.
Frequently Asked
Q: How much does a boat detail cost?
It depends on your boat, and that's in your favor. Most shops charge a flat rate per square foot, so a clean, well-kept boat ends up paying the same as a neglected one the same size. Sergio doesn't price that way. He quotes every boat on what it actually needs, its length, its condition, and any extras like interior detailing, ceramic coating, or oxidation removal. You get a firm quote before any work starts, and the number Sergio gives you is the number you pay. No per-foot formula, no padding, no surprises.
Q: Do you come to my marina?
Yes we service every major marina in Stockton, the Delta Loop, and the broader Delta. If you can give us slip number and gate access, we can usually be there within 2–5 days.
Q: Can you actually make a repair invisible?
On gelcoat color-matched repairs, yes that's the whole point of the service. We mix tint to your specific hull color and apply, sand, and polish the repair so it blends. On heavy structural repairs we'll show you the spot but most owners can't find it without us pointing.
Q: How long does it take?
Full details: 4–8 hours, one visit. Gelcoat restoration: 1–2 days depending on hull length. Fiberglass repairs: 1–4 days depending on damage size and cure times. We always give a firm timeline upfront.
Q: Are you insured?
Fully insured for both general liability and care/custody/control of your vessel. We can email a certificate to your marina or insurance carrier on request.
Q: Do you handle insurance-claim repairs?
Yes, we work with claims regularly. We provide detailed, itemized estimates that most marine carriers accept, and we can send before-and-after documentation straight to your adjuster, so the paperwork side is as painless as the repair itself.
Ready to See Your Boat Look New Again?
Text us a photo and we'll send back a free quote the same day. No pushy sales calls, no per-foot formula, no surprises, just a number, a timeline, and a date that works. The number Sergio gives you is the number you pay.
